Just as it's name implies, the forbidden forest is a place where no student should venture. It is a dark, scary plot of land inhabited by equally dark and scary creatures. If one finds themselves trapped within it's confines it could be days or weeks before they wander their way back out.

`` hagrid's hut
A small wooden house on the edge of the forbidden forest. A crossbow and a pair of giant galoshes are usually seen outside the front door...There is only one room inside. Hams and pheasants hanging from the ceiling.

`` quidditch pitch
This is the fabled Quidditch pitch of Hogwarts, a testing grounds for friend and foe alike to meet on the battlefield and duke it out in this head-on broom sport. With fully suitable stands for each house and ample flying space, the stadium is a hugely admired staple of Hogwarts school.

`` the courtyards
The Transfiguration, Clock Tower, and Entrance courtyards are all nice places to spend in between classes to relax, socialize, or work on school outside of the stuffy castle but still on the castle's grounds. All of the courtyards have many benches to relax on, but only the Transfiguration courtyard is grass; the other two are cement.

`` gardens and lawn - 1 Viewing
The front lawn of Hogwarts, which leads unto the forbidden forest, is a nice-open area for the students with nothing to do to come and get some fresh air on. With pristinely cut grasses and macadam walkways, the lawns and garden area of Hogwarts is fitting for a nice afternoon stroll or a vigorous run for exercise.

`` the lake
An beautiful ambiance to the landscape of Hogwarts grounds, the lake is home to several creatures including the giant squid and merfolk. Though, it is true that these creatures live within it, if you're just looking for a mid-afternoon summer swim than don't worry. They shouldn't be of any trouble to you.
