alright, so if there's anyone that oliver respects in the world, it's his former head of house. he didn't always agree with her opinions (seriously, why'd you take away that firebolt?!) but overall, he knows she always means well. i imagine that they have regular correspondence, perhaps him asking how the team is going/finding out when games are, whatever it might be. after all, she was his second favourite professor (professor hooch, obviously, takes the cake; how could he fail that class?) and surely she remembers drill sargent and captain oliver wood.

Great! Anytime you want to do a thread just let me know! Or if you want to have a more meaningful interaction, I sort of thought that McGonagall could have developed a relationship with just about anybody in the two years since the war ended, as everyone would have wanted to help rebuild Hogwarts, and she's the new Headmistress. So we could develop something along those lines- Oliver was really involved in the rebuilding, or he helped rescue Muggleborns during the war and McGonagall was his Order of the Phoenix contact- whatever seems interesting. Or if you have a lot of plots going just some owl post about Quidditch would be fun too!

He did fight in the final battle, but i'm not sure how much involvement i'd credit him with, you know? I don't have much going yet, though, so either works for me. I'd say, though, that he might have helped out a bit with the rebuild - i'm just not sure in what capacity.

Well, we don’t know what Oliver did during the last year of the war, so I think whatever fits with your characterization of him is fine- he could have been on Potterwatch, on some of the ones Harry didn’t hear, or he could have used International Quidditch contacts to help people escape. Or he could have just lain low- I just meant that if you do think he would have done something, he may have had some contact with McGonagall, giving them some basis for an adult relationship of equals. As for the rebuilding, I think the Quidditch Pitch would have been pretty torn up in the fighting, and Oliver wouldn’t have stood for that! He could have taken charge of getting that part of the grounds back together, which would certainly endear him to McGonagall. She does also love Quidditch!

I'm a tad late on this - sorry.

I don't think he'd have done much during the last year of the war - had some stuff going on himself that he needed to deal with. In any case, rebuilding the pitch sounds right up his alley. We could thread them out, see if we could round up some plotting.

I've been talking about how the rebuilding has just finished in some of my other posts, so the Quidditch Pitch should be all right, but it would make sense if the Pitch was one of the last things rebuilt, if they were trying to rebuild things necessary for the running of the school first. However, the Quidditch Cup and Flying lessons would have been canceled during construction, so maybe Minerva could ask for Oliver's help getting it started again? He could find out that the Quidditch Cup will be resumed this fall and volunteer to come help the teams with tryouts and get them inspired. We could think of a way to continue the thread afterwards. This would be good for me, since I'm trying to work out a thread with Katie where she's a temporary substitute for someone in September, and Dodi and I have long-term plans for Samson to come work at Hogwarts, and this would make Oliver a little difference. (Also, if Katie and I get the thread off the ground, she would be at Hogwarts at the same time as Oliver...)

I've a feeling Oliver would love to be both at Hogwarts and involved in the flying lessons/team building (: He'd teach flying, if you needed him to, the bugger. Loves it. But yeah, that works for me!
