HOUSE ;; Slytherin alumni
OCCUPATION ;; Reporter for the Daily Prophet

DAPHNE is ;;
--- LOUD ;; When Daphne enters a room she automatically draws attention to herself. Her eight inches heels and her don’t-mess-with-me attitude make her difficult not to notice. She is a confident young woman and she is rather independent. She swears like a trucker and she has an extremely short temper. She has problems controlling her temper and when she gets angry she tends to throw things and call everyone all sorts of names. You would not believe that her mum runs a school for etiquette when you see how Daphne behaves. She hates formal parties unless it involves getting pissed afterwards. Daphne speaks her mind and she never shuts up. She loves discussing and arguments and sometimes she is provoking on purpose to start an argument. She can go on for hours discussing things, not willing to admit she is wrong. She is a pain in the arse. Even though she speaks her mind she does know when it is a good time to shut up and keep her opinion to herself. She is not stupid and she knows that speaking your mind is not always a good thing.
--- ARROGANT ;; To be honest Daphne is an arrogant b*tch who thinks too highly of herself. She likes to think she is so much better than anyone else and this trait has given her a lot of enemies over the years. Not everyone seems to share her opinion and many gets pissed off when she talks about how great she is and her whole attitude. Daphne does not care. She never cares what people think of her and she hates modesty. Why not say “Yes I’m great” instead of being all “Oh no I am not good at all blahblahblah”. She is sick of it. She is rather confident and she is very proud of herself. She is happy for what she has accomplished. Daphne never admits her mistakes and she is sure that she is always right. Well, that is what she says but of course she knows that she isn’t right all the time but she doesn’t admit it. Daphne tries to tune down her arrogance when she is at work because this trait could easily cost her the job. She always puts herself before others and the most selfless thing she ever has done was fighting in the battle of Hogwarts.
--- CARING ;; Believe it or not, but Daphne is not as heartless as you think. She cares deeply for her friends even though she has a strange way to show it. Daphne is very honest. If she thinks your new clothes make you look fat she will tell you without wrap it up. She would like people to be honest with her so why should she not be honest to others? This goes against everything her mum has taught her but she is sick of being polite. If a friend of her is sick or something she will not leave the person’s side before the person is well. She likes to think that she is so important that she is needed all the time.
Daphne cares a lot for her sister and she will do anything for her. She does not think that any man is good enough for her. If anyone as much as think of bullying Astoria she will be there to protect her and jinx them to hell.

Thirty six hours. That was the time it took before Daphne was born and Cecelia, the mother often brought up the thirty six hours every time Daphne misbehaved though it never had the effect she had wished for because Daphne very early started telling her mum that she could not blame her for the thirty six hours. Daphne was just a baby. Anyway, Daphne’s dad Richard was a bit disappointed that she was not a boy but this disappointment only lasted a few days and then he completely fell in love with the little girl. Daphne was truly a daddy’s girl and she was treated as a little princess by her father. She was the single child for nearly three years but then Astoria was born. In the beginning Daphne hated her because she took all their parents’ attention and she was no longer treated as a princess. Now she was supposed to act as a big girl and nobody seemed to think she was just as cute as Astoria.
Cecelia Greengrass had her own school where girls could learn good manners and other important things during the summer and of course she wanted Daphne and Astoria to become well-mannered ladies. Unfortunately for Cecelia, Daphne did not want to learn any of the skills her mother thought was so important. The more Cecelia tried the more rebellious and misbehaved Daphne acted. She would cause trouble in the classes like refusing to let her dance partner lead, she would do the exact opposite of what she was told and she generally just tried to cause as much mayhem as possible. Daphne was bit of a tomboy as a child and she would rather climb trees or fight with the boys than sit still as a good girl. Her mother often warned her that she would never get married if she continued acting this way but Daphne just responded that she did not want to get married. She did not care that her behaviour was a disgrace or she was embarrassing her parents when she misbehaved when there were guests. As long as she had fun she was happy.
When Daphne was seven she started dancing ballet. At first she did not want to. It was part of the program at her mother’s school but after the first lesson she absolutely loved ballet. She turned out to be rather talented and Cecelia hoped this would make her into a proper girl. Well, Daphne did not change and she was still as tomboyish as ever. She could spend hours dancing and practising and she was admitted to a ballet school the year after.
Daphne was closer to her father than she was to her mother and it is not a secret that she liked her dad more. He was a bit more relax about things and he allowed her to play Quidditch when she wanted to. Of course this could have something to do that he had learned that there was no point in arguing with Daphne because she was so stubborn and she would probably do it anyway.
One day things changed. A death eater who was on the run wanted to hide in the Greengrass house but Richard refused. It ended in a duel and Richard was killed. Daphne was devastated and she was having nightmares for months. She kept dreaming of her dad’s body and even today her dreams are hunted by the memory. Nobody ever talked about the father’s death. It was like Cecelia was trying to pretend it never happen and every time Daphne asked questions she was told to shut up. This was another crack in her mother and her relationship because it made Daphne angry that her mum was not willing to talk about it. It was typical for purebloods to pretend everything was fine and not talk about things.
It was not a surprise that Daphne was sorted into a Slytherin because she held many of the treats that characterize a Slytherin student. She was actually happy for leaving the house and getting away from her mother who always had to correct her for every single thing.
Daphne did not have problems finding friends but she did have a problem keeping them because not everyone seemed to accept her for having a sharp tongue and her short temper. She even got a few detentions when the teachers got tired of arguing with her over small things. Daphne was not in the top of her classes but she was not unintelligent. The first two and a half years she worked hard to get good grades but then she started to care about other things than her grades when she realised she never would the best. It was a lot easier getting another student to make your homework than doing them yourself and she was rather good manipulating and blackmailing weak students to do her homework and then she had time to do other things. Like arranging parties or bossing other students around.
Daphne’s wild behaviour continued at Hogwarts and she was always ready for a party or skipping lessons. Though she was this social butterfly she never had a boyfriend. No boys could handle her and it was never more than flirting. Daphne used flirting to spice up the dull everyday life. Don’t think she was a flirt or easy. Daphne did it for her own pleasure and she was (and still is) quite able to take care of herself.
Daphne was sad when Dumbledore died. She knew this could only mean one thing, that the Dark Lord would take over and she was right. For years she had hidden her true feelings about it and she had never let anyone know that she did not support the pureblood idea. She never took part of bullying the muggleborns. During the war she kept quiet though she wanted so badly to take part of the war against the Dark Lord and the Death Eaters. The end, on the second of May she decided and she let people see her true colours. She fought in the battle as one of the few Slytherins. For once she took part of the events instead of just watching. Instead of thinking of herself she thought of the world she loved and she would never survive in a world where you-know-who ruled.
When Daphne graduated she decided to become a reporter. Her mother wanted her to work in the ministry or at least become a professional ballet dancer but as always Daphne did not care what her mum was thinking and she started taking a journalism course. Now she is working for the Daily Prophet and she thinks she is a rather good reporter. She will do (nearly) anything to get her story. She will blackmail, threaten, lie, flirt but never sleep with someone to get her story. Daphne is still a virgin even though she lives a pretty wild life with wild parties every weekend. She enjoys life.
Even though it was three years since Marvolo left Hogwarts and he did not have anything to do in Hogsmeade when he now lived in London he still sometimes visited The Three Broomsticks. Why when he could get a drink in a pub in London? Because he liked to come back and show the landlord that he no longer could say no to Marvolo when he asked for a fire whiskey. He was no longer a student and he could get whatever drink he wanted without the landlord telling him he was too young or he was not allowed to serve that kind of drinks to any students. He liked the power.
“A fire whiskey” he ordered before he sat down by an empty table in the corner. He would never work in a place like this not even if he got a thousand galleons. Or perhaps it would actually be the price if someone wanted him to work in a pub. A thousand galleons. He could need the money and it would be the perfect opportunity to piss off his father again. But still even for a thousand galleons he would still have to work and take orders and be nice. Marvolo swore when he left Hogwarts he was done obeying rules and he was done doing anything his father wanted him to do.
Marvolo was in a very bad mood and the reason why he was in a bad mood was because he had just been to a dinner party at his parents’ house and he had enough of pretending he actually cared for the rest of the week. Whenever he entered his parents’ house his father started his speech about what a disgrace he was. Marvolo was working as a photographer for the Daily Prophet and even though he hated the job he did not want to work in the Ministry as his father told him. He was not a disgrace. He was still a proud pureblood and that must be enough for his father.
“You could become the next Minister of Magic or you could get a high position. Think of all the power. Think of your name. You’re a Lestrange. You are not meant to work for others. Others work for you” did his father tell him every time. Marvolo knew it. He hated working for others but what his father seemed to forget was that being a pureblood was not the big thing anymore and right now Marvolo did not bother to do the hard work if he wanted a position in the ministry. He hated working and the only reason the editor had not fired him yet was that Marvolo was the best photographer the paper had.
Marvolo did not know why his father always wanted to lecture him. His sisters were not much better. Bellatrienne worked as a pharmacist for crying out loud and Drusilla did not work at all. She just waited to get married. But their father only cared about Marvolo because he was the son and the heir. It was shit! The whole family was shit!
But as long as his father still hoped Marvolo would change his mind he still paid his bills and for his wild lifestyle. The day the father realised Marvolo was not planning to change he was screwed but he did not think about that. Hey, he was Marvolo Lestrange he always got out of troubles somehow!
His father was one reason why Marvolo left early. The other reason was the guests. He did not like any of them. They were all so stuck-up and shallow he wanted to puke. He knew he would pay for his behaviour tomorrow but right now he just wanted to get pissed and forget about everything. One drink here and then back to London and find a party to crash.
Hey there! I'm EYRE. I'm EIGHTEEN, and I've been role playing for SIX YEARS. I found LMCI through CANNDEE/DRACO. My favorite Harry Potter is THE DEATHLY HALLOWS.
