Malcolm had been having the longest day of his life which should not come to anyone as a surprise. It was typical knowledge that though friendly the sixteen year old was pretty reclusive and stuck to himself now was one of those moments. He had taken a trip by foot since he could not apparrate until he was seventeen. Hogwarts was still out for summer and he found himself craving the place he called home. He didn't call his house with Aunt Maggie in Hogsmeade home, so he had begun the trek, the long four day trek to Godric's Hollow. Godric's Hollow was the final resting place of his mother and father and he of course wanted to see their graves. Godric's Hollow was becoming like a second home to him. He walked down the rows and rows of graves not noticing he was being watched. Finally when he got down before the graves, he smiled.
"Happy Birthday mum. I miss you." The young slytherin boy, finally noticed a stare from someone in the distance, from this vantage point he could not make out the person but he would just have to be careful. It could be a former deatheater or some reporter from the daily prophet the last thing he needed was someone knowing where his parents were buried, he had kept that secret for far too long. He couldn't afford for it to come out now. The only person who knew his secret at all was Astoria Greengrass, fellow Slytherin and Malcolm's personal mama bear. How that had all come about he didn't know, the girl just had that mothering instinct, perhaps it came from her finishing school. He didn't question it, he liked the girl she was nice and sweet. Quite the mothering aspect. He shrugged and held his backpack tightly. He gripped his wand in his pocket, he couldn't do magic outside of school on the holiday, but if he was attacked he did have to be ready. The only problem was he was a slytherin and people would think it was malicious and not self-defence, oh the joys of being in that house.
"Come out come out, wherever you are."

It wasn't every single day that you could find Blaine Morris wandering the streets of Hogsmeade. After all, it was time for them all to be out of school, he really had no reason to be there... well, except for one factor. His best friend Malcolm lived in Hogsmeade with his aunt. That was exactly why he was here, to see his best mate. He had been there to surprise him. Yet, when he walked up to the door, Malcolm's aunt answered, but there was no Malcolm. She had said he wasn't home and she wasn't sure where he was. Well that wasn't all that normal for Malcolm. He usually at least told her where he was going... which meant one thing.
Blaine nicely excused himself before walking out to the street, walking around the corner, and disapparating. He landed in the streets of Godric's Hollow, the one place he knew his friend to disappear to without word. Blaine had ever only been here once, shortly after Malcolm had told him about what had happened to his parents. He had shown him their grave, and Blaine had shown Malcolm his own mother's grave. You see, the two were very similar. Not only were they both athletic, outstanding, and wonderful young men and Quidditch players, they had also both dealt with quite a bit of bad times in their lives. Malcolm had lost his parents, and Blaine had lost his mother, both to Death Eaters.
Malcolm, however, had taken it upon himself to kill every Death Eater in the world... it was why he was training to be an auror. Blaine merely wanted revenge on the one man who had killed his mum. However, that wasn't the case today. Today he was looking for Malcolm, and before he had time to think twice, he saw him, walking into the cemetery. Not wanting to interrupt, Blaine leaned against a tree, watching his friend bend down and talk to his mother. A small smile formed on Blaine's lips, knowing the feeling of talking to your parents. He went out to her grave on a regular basis just to talk to her.
Malcolm stood up and said come out come out wherever you are and Blaine merely smirked. He stepped out of the shadow and in front of his best friend. "You obviously have mistaken me for some sort of a stalker, or someone playing hide-and-seek, neither of which am I." He said, a cheerful smile on his face. "Well, I had originally planned on surprising you with my presence, but you weren't home. It ruins the effect if I have to follow you." He said, with a chuckle. He nodded to his friend. "It seems peaceful around here today. I wonder if that's ever the case." He said, with a smirk. It was true. Ever since the war, Blaine still wondered when someone was going to rise up and just try to start another one.

Malcolm turned at the sound of a voice. He recognized that voice all too well, Blaine was one of his best friends, they were both in Slytherin house and on the Quidditch team. He was a chaser, and he was one of the best, he even thought of playing professionally if for some reason being Auror fell through. Malcolm smirked and turned around embracing the man he considered a brother. He looked at Blaine with a smirk. Blaine of course would be the only person to find him here of all places. He chuckled.
“Of course you’d have found me. Yeah it does seem peaceful. Potter and them all say in the Auror department that there is always peace before the storm. I hope now that isn’t the case. But there will always be some sort of dark lord, and some propaganda that he or she will preach.” Malcolm clapped a hand on his best mate’s back. He looked at him, his eyes shining just a bit. Blaine was the closest thing he had to family nowadays. Blaine and Astoria were his best friends at Hogwarts, he was kind of an odd ball out as he had strange ideals for a Slytherin. Malcolm pulled two sandwiches from his backpack and two flasks of pumpkin juice. He handed Blaine one of each.
“Here, its actually pretty good my aunt made them, her homemade pumpkin juice is amazing.” He took a bite of the sandwich sitting on his parent’s grave, memories assaulting him, the strong man wiped back tears, he was strong but he was still a teenager, he sighed. He was a teenager who lost his parents. He looked up at Blaine.
“There’s something I didn’t tell you. I didn’t want people knowing. The night my parents died, I was there, I came home to find the house on fire, I went into the house already knowing there was nothing I could. Whoever killed them was still there, I think it was HIM, my parents had to have offended them greatly. He stunned them and let them burn to death. I went into the flames, through the fire, used a charm really, and whoever was there, they spared my life, they stunned me and dragged me out into the snow. They left me there, they let me live. I want to know why, why they had to die, but they let me live, mostly he-who-must-not-be-named kills the whole family, why did he let me live? Is there something I’m supposed to do, ever since I was born, I was strange, different, even for a slytherin. I just want to know why Blaine. I want to know what my parents did that was so bad that cost them their lives.” Malcolm looked up at him. “You closest thing I’ve had to a brother Blaine, you’re the only family I have left cept for my aunt.”
