"He looked up at me, and evidently saw the change in my face, for he said almost joyously: 'Ah, you believe now?'" [ For years, or rather, for centuries, humans have believed themselves to be the dominant species on earth and if anything unknown came along, we battled it with our technology. However, since the beginning of time, the darkness has forced shivers to run down our spines, our hair to stand on end so that we avoid being submersed in the shadows. Our faithful technology and superior race status fails to shield us from the fear that the darkness instilled. We often look over our shoulder and notice a pair of shining eyes starring back at us from an empty alleyway, but when we turn back again, the eyes are gone, only to fade into the popular belief that it is simply a figment of your imagination. You walk farther along, laughing at yourself for thinking that you had seen something, until you hear breathing in your ear. Turning around, slowly, cautiously as your heart attempts to beat out of your chest, pushing blood through your veins. Suddenly, your world collapses and your imagination has come to life. You are not allowed more than a moment to realize what you are staring at before the fangs plunge into your neck and the creature sucks violently at your blood, your fear fueling the flow. Your first instinct is to flail violently, but gradually, though the pain does not ebb away, you find yourself falling in an abyss of serenity. Your eyelids become heavy, your limbs feel disconnected, and before long, your conciousness dissipates, leaving you as nothing but a shell, a vessel which once held a life.] [/blockquote] "I answered. 'Do not press me too hard all at once. I am willing to accept. How will you do this bloody work?'" [ Vampires. They're neither fiction nor legend. They are very, very real. They live among as, immortal, as denziens of the night, preying on the blood we contain. Vampires are not prejudiced, they are not picky. Anyone can be there next meal. If given the chance, they will drain you dry to quench their thirst. However, these creatures must follow their code which has been in use for as long as vampires have roamed the earth. For years, THE CODE and the Elder Council have kept vampires in line and out of trouble. It has kept them as legends that scare little children and amuse skeptics. However, in recent times, the last four years, small , organized uprisings have been occuring. Vampires all over the world are banding together in attempt to abolish the code. They see no reason to hide in the shadows any longer. They are afterall, an obviously dominant species. However the Elders fear the possibilites of 'coming out' to the world. They have been repressing the rebels from their headquarters in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Now, small rebellions are occurring closer and closer to Amsterdam and the humans and becoming alarmed. People are being found drained of their blood and sightings of 'fanged beasts' are being reported more frequently. Not only are the Elders worried at these Vampires outbursts, but the other species that lurk within the shadows are beginning to worry. Once the Vampires go public, it won't be long before the human race realizes that there is more out there. They may be inferior, but they are not completely ignorant. Species that normally hated each other and slowly banding together to stop these uprisings. However, there are those that share the rebels' ideas. So, who do you stand with? The Rebels, or the traditionals? There is no neutral, this is war. Choose a side. ] [/blockquote] "I shall cut off her head and fill her mouth with garlic, and I shall drive a stake through her body.'"
