--- GOSSIPER ;; If something is happening around Hogwarts, you can bet your bottom galleon that Romilda Vane knows about it. In fact, it’s probably a safe bet that if you can trace the origins of the rumour back to the girl. She just loves a good story. The juicier the better really. She just loves to know the details of everyone’s personal life, and will be a pain in the arse, rutheless little thing until she gets the information she wants to know. Really she just hates feeling like she isn’t in the know (not to mention the fact she feeds off drama, but more then that later.) If you know a secret, Romilda is not the girl to tell. If you keep a secret from her, beware her wrath when she finds out you didn’t tell her something- the bigger, the more in trouble you’ll be.
--- AMBITIOUS ;; Ambition is a funny thing. While some ambitious people work hard at doing well in school in hopes to gain positions of power, or are driven towards very set goals, Romilda doesn’t seem all too concerned. In all actuality, she’d rather be married to a powerful man. I suppose that’s her ambition- to gain status through marriage. It’s strange, because some would think that it was an easy way to get ahead, but for Romilda, it really isn’t. She’ll go to most any length to gain the affections of her target. Which usually involves a lot of scheming and intricate planning. Seriously, do you think it was easy to get love potion into those chocolates, then find a way to get them to Harry? Whatever, not like she was still interested in the likes of him.
--- DRAMATIC ;; Drama, we all have it, most of us hate it. Romilda Vane, on the other hand, loves the drama. She feeds off it. Everything about her is dramatic, from the bold colours she wears on her nails to the animated way she speaks. In fact, it wouldn’t be amiss to suggest that she herself has stirred up drama. If she likes the same guy as you, she’ll probably ‘randomly’ chat to you, making sure she slips in little details about the guy in question. Being sure to talk her relationship with him up. In that carefree way of course that makes you fee a little ill, considering he assured you last week he barely knew Romilda. A day without drama, is well, just a day wasted. The girl just thrives off it all and has a knack of turning the smallest thing into a huge event.

Growing up for Romilda, was nothing all that exciting, She was born as first, and only, child to Warthorp and Katrina Vane, both pure blood. They had a relatively big house and never wanted her much at all. Warthop’s job in management in the ministry gaining them more money than they really needed. While her father worked, Romilda’s mother stayed home and tended to the house. Or well, spent the money, rather. Katrina loved pretty things, and loved to decorate and re-decorate the house as often as she could. It was this that greatly influenced the young child. Most of her mother’s friend’s were stay at home mother’s too, and Romilda started to believe that’s what a woman was supposed to do- Get married and spend money. It was an idea she wasn’t going to give up on all that quickly.
With such a bland, boring start to her life, the young girl started to crave more exciting things. She’d always been a rather excitable little thing, but the older she got, the more she started to, well, big note her life. If her mother dropped a plate, she’d re-tell the story where-in her mother fainted from a dizzy spell, dropping a platter full of food as she did. Things got easier as she grew into a teen, because she didn’t need to create false stories for drama anymore, they came on their own. What did you expect when you put a bunch of teenagers into such close living situations? Romilda didn’t mind at all though, she was in her element- Controlling, creating and reporting on everything and anything that went down. She had fast created a reputation for herself as the girl who’s hair was full of secrets. It was a reputation she very much enjoyed.
While her family stayed very much aligned with the Order, in the lead-up to the final battle, the Vane’s stayed relatively natural. They kept their head down, and stayed out of trouble, without having to make any grand actions towards or against one side or another. If put in the situation though, Romilda would have acted. Instead, she just acted as a wealth of information. If your friend didn’t turn up after Easter, She knew why. If a ministry Official went missing, she knew all about it. Oddly enough, Romilda had enjoyed the highly charged atmosphere. Shame about all the deaths and what not..
