--- SNEAKY;; Many would wonder why a former Ravenclaw would be even described this word. It's simple. It was because during her times as a Ravevnclaw, she had hung out with Slytherin students. It was only natural to have some of their characteristics rubbed off on her. The girl finds so many different ways to just get what she wants. Like a snake, she is quite good at sneaking around. Such as finding information out on someone. Lyra has a good tongue. More like a silver tounge. She sweet talks people into giving her information even if that person is cold, she will continue to sound sweet. Lyra will find a way to get what she wants and if she doesn't get it...well, there's always another way to get what she wants.
--- PATIENT;; She was born patient. When her parents ignored her, she was patient enough to wait for them to hear her out. When the Slytherin's tried to get her out of their group, she was patient enough to let her blackmail sink in. Lyra is a kind of girl who knows and understands the words, “patience is a virtue.” Of course, she also knows that being patient gets you so many good things. Such as being patient enough to watch herself become the person she wanted to be when she was younger. A reporter. Getting into the Daily Prophet was really hard and they had rejected her the first time. Lyra nearly screamed at them. She kept her cool though and with a bit of blackmail and some patience, Lyra was then called back to start work. Yes, many people would say that Lyra was a very patient girl.
--- INTELLIGENT;; As a former Ravenclaw student, it was already clear that she was intelligent. Of course, it all started when she was younger. The girl was a 'nerd' compared to other students. She wore no glasses, but she certainly worked hard. She did hang around Slytherin students but otherwise, she was in the library studying. The girl loved studying and wanted the highest grades. She hated Herminone Granger who was in the same year as her. The girl wanted to be the smartest, but Granger always surpassed her. Lyra hated it. Another example that showed that she was indeed smart was making friend in the 'right' groups. She was friends with Slytherins, therefore making herself impossible to touch. No Slytherin would dare hex or even jinx her. She knew that. On that note, Lyra also made sure that she stuck to her 'pureblood' status. In order to fit in, she also discriminated against muggles which also made many Slytherins like her.

Lyra Morgana Redfern was born on a wintery January night. On the tenth, actually. Her parents, Hunter and Marianne Redfern were both purebloods and taught her the way of a pureblood. Unfortunately for Lyra, her parents were always too busy worshiping the Dark lord to really even take much notice of her. Rather, her maid/ caretaker, Rosita, took care of her from birth. Rosie, as Lyra called her, was a house-elf that Lyra came to love. Even though her parents were cruel and demanding to Rosita, Lyra always seemed to stick up to the little house-elf. The house-elf taught her the way she would have to be in order to live. Lyra learned that she needed to be smart in order to live. Listening was the key to everything. Rosie also taught her that books were her best friend. Lyra listened to every word that Rosie taught her until the house-elf died of old age. The young girl insisted on a grave for Rosie and with a few things that old Rosie taught her, she got what she wanted.
Growing older without Rosie was painful and Lyra saw that. Her new house-elf, Pinky, was stupid. Lyra didn't quite like Pinky, so she treated the house-elf like her parents did. Cold and uncaring. Her parents weren't very loving people, but Lyra learned how to deal. She was patient when her parents ignored her and at times, she had to make traps in order to make her parents see her. Even if her parents were angry at her, at least she could be seen. One day, the Daily Prophet was lying on the ground and Lyra, being young, just flipped through the pages in hopes to find some sort of funny image. During the time she was flipping, she found a small gossip column and was entranced. The page was filled with pictures of people, waving and smiling. A few were crying and looking completely ridiculous but what the reporter said was funny! On that day, Lyra made up her mind. She was going to become a reporter when she grew up. She had to. Why? It's because she believed that she needed to be seen by people. Nobody saw her. But she'd change that, by being the best reporter anyone had ever seen.
Once receiving her Hogwarts letter, she planned what house she wanted to be in. Slytherin was the best, she had decided. It wasn't until the old Sorting Hat put her into Ravenclaw that she came to an agreement that Ravenclaw was a pretty good house. At least the old Hate got something right. She was smart and she would do the smart thing. Make friends with Slytherin. So, during her first three years, she dug into everyone's past and used it to her advantage. In the end, she made friends with the Slytherin Crew of her year. Of course, she wasn't the leader, but she was happy enough to just be part of their group. They treated her like one of them, which she was very pleased about. At first, a few Slytherins wanted to exclude her, but Lyra made her think otherwise when showing her a photo she had accidentally 'taken' of. Of course, the girl smartened up and invited Lyra to lunch at their table the next day.
During the next two years, Lyra paid very hard attention in class, in hopes of being the smartest witch in the class. She cursed Herminone Granger to the grave, for she, Lyra, was always trying to do better. Granger was too perfect and Lyra hated her. She knew that Granger was a muggle-born and that was enough to sprout out some nasty words to her. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to find a lot of dirt on her. Rather, she found out that Granger was almost the 'Miss Perfect' in everything. Sure, she knew that Granger had love problems, but it didn't do much. Lyra was smart enough to keep an eye on the Granger girl, but also knew that her 'friends' were just as annoying as her. Harry Bloody Potter was always saving someone. He was the hero of the school and it was always about him. Even in the gossip magazines. Lyra wanted to ruin him so badly, but she knew that she would make more enemies like that. So, she tried her best to avoid him. Lyra had also created a goal to keep up with Granger, but never actually managed to do such thing. Rather, she was always behind Granger. Usually in third to fourth place. Lyra was good at lying. It was as if she was born at lying. So, when her parents asked her about her time there, she always found a way to get them to stop talking about her grades. Anyways, after her fifth year, she knew she was pretty safe from everything.
Her last years at Hogwarts were not exactly fun. Lyra was always stressed about work and was determined to get high grades during those years. She was quite touchy during those years and she almost lost a quite a few friends during those years. Lyra was serious about her grades and she hated losing. Her temper was horrible, and she nearly lost it one day by screaming at a stupid (and annoying) Hufflepuff boy. A few people started a rumor by saying she was insane and really had no friends. Lyra snapped. She found them and hexed them so badly they ended up in the Hospital Wing for a week. People made a mental note not to mess with the Redfern after that and all was quite silent and quite dull after that incident. Soon after the two years passed, Lyra graduated from Hogwarts with high-average grades. Lyra was proud of herself and found her parents sounding slightly proud of her as well. The girl wanted higher grades, but decided it was as good as it was going to get.
In a month's time, she was then hired as a trainee for the Daily Prophet Gossip column. Lyra worked hard and in five month's time, she got herself a place in the Daily Prophet. Her own column. As to this day, Lyra still works for the Prophet and her columns are quite popular.More popular than Rita Skeeter, actually.
Another thing that everyone should know about Lyra is that she does not factcheck her articles.
Another day, another article. Lyra was tired and exhausted. Running a hand through her thick dark hair, she found herself leaning back on her chair and letting out a tired sigh. There were so many interviews piling up and Lyra love every moment of it. Even though she was tired, she would never give up her job. Heaving herself up she looked at her papers. Everything was a mess. Her whole desk looked as if a war had occurred on it. Her dark hair fell like a curtain over her back while she picked up pieces of parchment and piled it up on one side of her desk. She was writing a part of her article dedicated to Serverus Snape, the Hogwarts Professor. The dark haired woman smirked a the thought. It was about time the old man got what he deserved. This article was about Snape beating up a poor defenseless Hufflepuff girl. The girl had taken pictures of her bruises and someone had taken a snapshot of Snape carrying the girl to the Hospital Wing.
She had even gotten a student at Hogwarts who had confessed (lied, probably) that he had witnessed the whole thing. Everything was pretty much set. Lyra loved her job. Really, she did. The sea-green eyed girl was enjoying every moment of ruining someone's life. It felt exhilarating. She didn't care if that person decided to kill themselves over her articles. That was stupid. It wasn't her fault that the person had emotional issues in their life. She was just doing her job. Creating havoc in the wizarding world by making articles about the interesting people in the wizard world. It really was no different than writing up an article about some muggle star. The only thing that was different was that her words really did effect many people. Lyra was always pleased that people talked about her articles. They were really her motivation in writing the articles. The reviews, that is. She got up and smoothed her dark dress. She combed her hair with her fingers, hoping that she did look presentable. She had another interview to attend and this time, it had to do with some pureblood wizard. Lyra had wore her black heels with a strapless dark purple dress in order to look like she fitted in. They were to have dinner in a rather fancy place over in London. Sure, it was in the muggle world, but that didn't really matter all that much.
Grabbing her clutch from the bottom draw her of her desk, she got up and walked out of her office. Of course, she grabbed her coat from the coat stand on her way out. Her eyes flickered back to her messy desk, wondering if she had forgotten anything. Giving a small shrug, she then made her way towards the exit. She heard a voice calling her name and she turned around. Behind her was a man running after her with a goofy smile on his face.
“Redfern! Leaving so early?”
She nearly grimaced, but kept a bright smile on her face. Yeah. I've got to do an interview to do. The man really wasn't even handsome and Lyra was dreading the look on his face when he coughed and sheepishly asked, “Well, you see...I was wondering...” Lyra shot him a 'really' look, raising a brow. Her green blue eyes looked at him, turning slightly cold at him before saying in her cheerful tone, Got to go, Al. See you tomorrow.
With that, she turned and walked out of the door, her face had turned dark, feeling annoyed at the fact that he would even dare try and ask her out. She made a mental note to cause him some misery later. Once outside, she Apprated to the resturant. Taking out her wand, she quickly muttered a spell and her hair was put up elegantly, matching the formal attire she was wearing. Her heels clicked against the pavement while she walked into the restaurant. Smiling brightly at the waiter, she was lead to the table where a young man was sitting, looking mildly handsome. Once sitting down, she gave him another one of her pretty smiles and said,
It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Mr. Lockwood. Shall we get down to business now?
