HERMIONE JEAN GRANGER

BLOOD STATUS AND RACE ;; Muggle-Born Witch
YEAR ;; 7th
HOUSE ;; Gryffindor
OCCUPATION ;; n/a
SEXUAL ORIENTATION ;; Ron-sexual.. or something like that. She likes men.
PLAY-BY ;; Emma Watson, naturally
HERMIONE is ;;
--- ORGANIZED ;; Hermione is an organized young woman. Perhaps to the point of a mild OCD. She always has a plan and a list and knows what needs to be done and when. A skill that has been most useful to other people. Except of course when she was pushing intense study schedules at them, insisting they must follow them. Every moment of her day is generally accounted for, especially when there are important things to do. The female doesn’t do well during the summer, as she has nothing to plan for, nothing to study for. Hermione likes having that sort of control. Over herself (and often others) and time. To the point where she can get rather upset when things don’t go to her plan. As bright as she is, she tries to cover all the bases, but doesn’t leave much room in the final plan for incidentals.
--- KNOW IT ALL ;; A wealth of knowledge, is our girl. Being naturally bright, she picks things up easily. Things don’t just drop into her head at random moments though. Her knowledge comes from her love of books. She reads. Anything and everything she can get her hands on. Her mind absorbs it all like a sponge. She’s the sort of girl who has the un-canny ability to remember everything she reads. She retains information like no-body’s business. However her desire for knowledge comes with a certain.. well annoyance shall we say. She needs to be right, and prove she knows what she’s talking about. It’s not exactly the way to make friends; cramming your superior knowledge at people. In fact, it tends to get people off-side. Especially when she likes to have the last word in an argument. She needs to be right.
--- NEUROTIC;; You might think that such an intelligent young woman would be well adjusted but truth be told, Hermione is not. Control over her time, she has. Control over her emotions? Not so much. While she is capable to think of a rational plan in the face of sure and certain danger, when her emotions are involved a lot of her rationality scampers off (Send a flock of birds after anyone lately, Mione..). She turns into a mess when it comes time for exams, completely antagonising over every tiny date and fact. And when matters of the heart come to play, you can bet she won’t deal with her emotions in mature, practical ways. Instead she bottles thing up until they burst out in the most unhealthy ways.
HERMIONE'S patronus is a ;; An Otter.
HERMIONE'S boggart takes the form of ;; The dead body of Ronald Weasley and Harry Potter. It used to be an amalgamation of her fears of failing school but the war has changed her and now what she fears most is loosing those who have been closer to her then her own family.
HERMIONE adores ;; books, the smell of books, libraries, school, learning new things, Arithmancy, Hogwarts: A history, Red-headed boys who play quidditch, fighting for those who can’t defend themselves (house-elves..), Concrete facts she can see, Lime flavour Bertie Bots Beans.
HERMIONE abhors ;; Flying, Injustices, Divination, Liquorice wands, Being wrong, Rule breaking- in general, though there are situations.., Red-headed boys who play quidditch, ‘Pure blood’ snobbery, Failing, Rita Skeeter, Things that have no proof or that she can’t research.
Being a muggle born, Hermione grew up with no knowledge of the wizarding world. The girl was from an upper-middle class family in Kent. Both Mr. and Mrs. Granger had jobs as dentists, and never had money issues. They were a simple family who lived well within their means. Not being swayed into having the greatest and the latest of everything. The child grew up in a clean, ordered environment. Her parents needed that really. Both so busy their lives needed to be structured. As for the clean, well given the clean environment they both had to work in, it made sense to carry it across into their home lives. Books were another feature in her childhood. Her mother was a lover of literature but Hermione’s tastes were much broader. She read any book she could get a hold of. Growing that brain of hers.
Then it came. A strange letter on yellowed parchment with a thick red steal on the underside. At first she didn’t know what to think. She’d always been the sort to need facts, proof. She didn’t just go off blindly believing. There was only really one thing that would prove to the bushy haired female what was the truth; following the instructions set out in the letter to the place called Diagon Alley. And there it was. A strange new world that delighted and inspired the young girl. By the time she stepped into platform nine and three quarters, she’d read all her text books, plus some others she had bought in order to fully equip herself for her new life. Friendship though, did not come easily for her. Hardly anyone appreciated the facts of the castle she could recite on que, or her hand being the first to shoot in the air. It wasn’t until the red-headed Ronald Weasley had made fun of her after class that things started to change. She’d ran right to the girl’s bathroom, and stayed there all afternoon. She had no intention of coming out until she could sneak to bed un-noticed either. That was, until a great big troll, followed by Ron and Harry entered the scene. Between the three of them, they managed to bring the troll down. Forging a friendship. After all, fighting a troll is not something you go through without becoming friends afterwards.
Between a professor with two faces and the stone he was after, attacks on the castle, giant snakes, being petrified, a time-turner, a werewolf for a teacher, bad guys who are really good and travelling back in time to save two innocent lives, she could barely say the rest of her first, and then the next to years, were quiet. They were anything but. Trouble seemed to find Hermione and her new found friends. Instead of ignoring it and trying to carry on though, the three of them let it in and tried to get to the bottom of it. Between Hermione’s thirst for knowledge and being right, and Harry’s past and compulsion to play the hero and save people, it was hard not to be enticed by the adventures. Besides, destiny was a powerful thing, and it seemed the three of them were destined to save the world. All of this only served to bring the trio of friends together though. Uniting them and creating solid bonds.
With forth year, came hormones. Romance. To be frank, that was something Hermione found a tad more frightening then giant snakes and devil’s snare. She’d always had a soft spot for Ron, but the older she got, the more the feelings started to develop and change. Which aided in making things all the more complicated. Especially when yoi throw someone else’s affections into the mix. Victor Krum, a foreign student (and ever so slightly famous Quidditch player..) who was competing in the Tri-wizard cup seemed to take a fancy to the young woman. Lord knows why. Hermione found herself being watched while she was in the library by the older boy. An action that both scared and delighted the girl. He never said much, but at times she could feel his eyes on her, and she’d look up and see him. Meeting his gaze, her cheeks would flush and she’d try to smile before awkwardly going back to her book. It was a confusing time for Hermione. Trying to figure out her feeling for both Ron and Victor. When the Yule ball was announced, if she were honest with herself, she wanted Ron to ask her. However he seemed much more occupied wanting to ask any other girl besides Hermione. So when Krum asked her, she accepted without a second thought to what that would all mean.
She had been hardly expecting the reaction Ron had given her though. Not only did he offend her greatly by asking her as his last and final option, he mocked her. The red-head didn’t seem to think she was actually being truthful when she said she had a date. Well. She’d show him wouldn’t she? Determined to make an impression, Hermione had worked hard on her appearance for the evening. Mostly to tame her mass of brown frizz. Who was she trying to impress though? Ron or Victor? She wasn’t exactly sure. She certainly did make an impression though. On both of them. A positive one on Victor and a seemingly negative one on Ron. Which in turn ensured she ended the night in tears. Like most cliché ending to any school dance. Her romance with Victor, while it included her first (mostly awkward) kiss, petered out rather quickly as the year came to a close. They wrote a few letters, but in all truth, her heart hadn’t been in it. Not really.
Fifth year was rather un-eventful in terms of huge, life altering moments for Hermione. Sure, she enjoyed the summer with Ron, er, the Weasley’s. And becoming prefect was an excitement. The first real achievement her parents could fully understand. But then, in her deepest of thoughts, she had never suspected she wouldn’t be a prefect. Sure, that was perhaps a little unfair of her to think, but she was the brightest in her grade. It made sense she’d be chosen. Giving herself a break from romantic entanglements, Hermione chose to focus on helping Harry with his own confusing Relationship with Cho. And Ginny with her need to start dating other people and getting over Harry. Which was harder then it seemed mind you. Keeping information from Ron about Ginny wasn’t easy. Then again, she had always kept Ginny’s secrets. That year was about other people’s triumphs. Harry teaching the DA. Ron making prefect (and playing quidditch), Neville mastering defensive spells. Thing which she felt quietly proud about.
Sadly, her romantic entanglements made an appearance the next year. However this time Ron was the one with the suitor. The worst part was, they had just started getting somewhere in their relationship. She had asked him (in their round about, dysfunctional way) to Slughorn’s Christmas party. She thought at last they were going to start wading the murky waters of love. Then, all of a sudden, with no rhyme or reason, Ron was angry at her. She had no idea why, that Ginny had (while angry with him) told him of her kiss with Krum. His new found silence for Hermione both hurt and confused the young woman. That, however, was just a small sliver of the hurt she was to feel when he started ‘dating’ Lavender Brown. Not that Hermione would call trying to eat each other’s faces off a real relationship. The silence that fell between the friends was so thick, you could almost see the tension surrounding them. Hermione no longer sat with Harry when he was with Ron. She even attempted to make the boy jealous with Cormac, but that just ended in her trying to evade his eager self at the Christmas party. It wasn’t until Ron’s life was threatened, that the ice thawed. No matter what was happening between them, she still cared about him. Things seemed to calm down a little after that, and Ron even ended things with Lavender. However they were both a little too gun shy to return to the place they had been before. Besides that, with the passing of Dumbledore, there were more important things at hand then their romance.
With the threat from Voldermort growing stronger, and the mission she was about to embark on, Hermione made a very hard decision. Her parents safety needed to be her prime concern. So she wiped their memories, gave them new ones, and sent them off to Australia, where she knew they’d be safe. Then she set about making a plan. If they were going to find the horcrux’, they would need a plan. And supplies. While at the Weasley’s she poured over books. Choosing any she thought may be needed. It was such an antagonizing decision. She didn’t know where the search would take them, nor what they’d need to know. With the books and other supplies ferreted away in her tiny beaded purse, Hermione was ready. Just as well, considering the hasty exist that had to be made from the Burrow. During a wedding no less. The journey was tedious. They spent far too much time for Hermione’s liking camping, with no clue as to their next move. The worst of it came when Ron left them. Just deserted them. She’d ran after him, trying to find him but it was too late. He’d left. Once they left that spot, he’d have no hope of finding them again.. if he wanted to come back. Without Ron, she withdrew. Spend her nights crying and her days saying very little to Harry.
For all the time spent in a a haze, things seemed to come together rather quickly. Ron returned, and they found another Hocrux in the same night. After letting out her emotions on Ron (hitting may have been involved..) they seemed to get back on track. Only to be derailed again as they were captured. Some quick thinking and a house-elf though saw them escaping—bringing along with them some old friends. The knowledge (and wands) they had gained during the capture though was the key they needed. From that point on they acted with purpose. Which, mind you, pleased Hermione much more then not knowing their next move. Their plans lead them to Hogwarts. They had reason to believe the last Hocrux was in the fortress. Things, however, did not go to plan when Voldermort was alerted of their presence. He turned up at the castle, ready to fight Harry to the death; A death he was sure would be Harry’s. What Voldermort was not counting on? The wizarding world ready to fight back.
It was there, in the middle of battle plans, that Hermione threw herself on Ron and kissed him. How could she not? If impending death wasn’t enough, his care for the house-elves was too much to bare. Of course they both regained their heads and returned focus on the battle. It would be nice to be able to recount that all ended well in the battle; and it did end well over all. However not everyone had survived the fight. In particular Fred Weasley. She’d dealt with deaths before, but this time, it hit much closer to home. Especially with the deaths of Lupin and Tonks. She stayed for the funerals. Holding Ron’s hand tightly throughout his brother’s. Then she went abroad, to Australia to find her parents. She found them. Her intention had been to return their memories and bring them home. However when she saw the life they’d created; that her mother was pregnant. She couldn’t bare the thought. So she left them there, and returned back to the Burrow. Claiming she hadn’t found them at all. A secret she was more then willing to keep.

Perhaps it was time to invest in an adult sized plastic smock? Harri considered that idea for a moment. He was sure if he showed up for art time next Friday in one of those strange looking rain-coats his class would certainly be entertained. To the point of hysterics he was sure. That in itself was probably enough to follow through with the idea. Anything that got his kids crying with laughter was a good thing. He liked to balance his classes with laughter and fun, and actual learning. They were still little kids! They needed fun or they’d just loose interest entirely.
Placing the last tiny chair atop one of the tables, the man let his eyes sweep over the room. Making sure the room had been restored to complete order after the day’s chaos. It was no use starting the school day in a shambles, because it would only just go down hill from there. It needed to be ordered and structured, so at least there was some home for getting through the lesson plan. Moving over to his desk, Mr. Tanner collected all his belongings. Placing them into his canvas nap-sack. He then took his coat off his hook at slipped it over his broad shoulders, before adding the bag.
His last act for the afternoon was to flick all the lights off as he left the classroom. As he set off down the hall, the man couldn’t help feel an empty feeling settle in his stomach. He loved his job, and his life on the most part, but he knew something was missing. Family. It had always been really important to Harrison, and no matter how often he called his parents and his little brother, he couldn’t help it. He still felt like he needed personal family contact. His friends liked to pin it all down to him needing some sort of girlfriend, but Harri wasn’t too sure.
Girls, or rather women, had never really been the answer to his problems before. Still though, having some sort of familial figure like a partner could not hurt right? Harrison was lost in his train of thought as he left the elementary school building he was barely paying attention to where he was headed. It was a good thing the journey home was so well known to the man he didn’t really need to pay attention. Though he did need to be aware of those around him. Snapping his mind away from dating he did just that and looked up to make sure he wasn’t going to walk into anyone.
Then he saw her. Or at least someone that looked so much like her it made Harrison’s heart stop for a good moment. His feet following suit and coming to a quick halt. He felt his mouth go dry, and his palms start to sweat. His heart started again but it must have been trying to make up for lost time because now it was thundering a long at twice the normal speed. What was she doing here? He hadn’t seen her since—Oh god. “Annabelle.” He spoke her name in a low, hoarse murmur. As he urged his feet forward.
Before he could get too far though, she was gone. Whoever she was had vanished. Leaving Harrison to question if he’d even seen her at all. Swallowing, the man tried to put himself back together. He could not afford to fall apart. He’d worked so hard to build his new life. Still in a daze, he turned all too quickly. Stepping right into another full sized human as he did. He was used to little people getting under feet all day, but he really wasn’t too sure how to go about running into an adult. “I’m so sorry!.” he let out in his slight southern drawl, before he even looked to see who it was.
